If you’re like millions of people who use Joomla for content management, at some point you may be contemplating about venturing into ecommerce. That’s not always easy, but then again there’s HikaShop. HikaShop was specifically designed to be flexible enough to adapt to your demands, while still remain simple and easy to use.
You have three pricing options with HikaShop. The starter version is free to download, and it already comes with a lot of features which you will find useful. The 49.95€ essential version is the real basic version, with the essential features you’ll need for a small online shop. The 99.90€ business version is what you’ll need for a bigger shop, and it has all the features you’ll ever need.
In the starter version, you can already create as many products as you want for your site. It offers superb product management. Each product can be in several categories, and products can come with several images, badges, and downloadable files. In the commercial versions, you can have custom fields for products, put limits on sales depending on the period, put customers on waiting lists for particular products, have product listings with carousel and sliding or fading effects, and get comparison tables.
For prices, even the starter version can have your prices listed in several currencies or auto calculated based on currency rates. You can even manage the tax rules. In the commercial version, the currency rates are even updated automatically.
The starter version puts no limits on the number of orders your website generates and you can even have a history of order modifications. Invoices can be displayed and printed, and the checkout process can be customized. The commercial versions of HikaShop even allow for multi-cart options, guest checkout, and customer wishlist management.
HikaShop is of course open to any HikaShop plugins, and it works with more than 70 payment plugins. With the essential plan, you can use the Alpha User Points plugin so that your customer can gain or use points when buying from your site. With the business edition, you can use your customer IP to know which country or city they’re coming from.
Marketing is also much easier with this program. The address information form can be tweaked, and in the commercial version the user info can be tailored as well. The business edition even allows the attachment of fields to the checkout. Emails can be customized, it integrates with AcyMailing and Google Products, discounts and coupons can be applied to prices even with some restrictions on how these discounts are used, and you can also run your own affiliate program.
The analytical tools offered by the paid versions are simply fantastic. Multiple graphics are available, including sales pie charts and heat maps of sales. Affiliate clicks and sales can be tracked as well.
Documentation is integrated, but online support tolls are available as well. The forum is a great place to get your questions answered, and the business edition offers email support too.
All in all, if you’re going to use Joomla for business, you may as well use HikaShop to boost your chances of success.
